Golden Boy Promotion top honcho Oscar De La Hoya said he's ready to end his 'war' with former promoter Bob Arum and his Top-Rank promotions, saying it's about time to settle their issues once and for all.

Having finished his drug rehabilitation, De La Hoya expressed his willingness to meet with Arum and discuss a possible reconciliation between the two most influential boxing stables in the business.

"Well look, all the animosity, all the bad words that have been going back and forth, there's no need for it. Boxing is a sport that I dearly love and we're both adults. Bob Arum did a lot for my career and I greatly appreciate it," De La Hoya said during media workouts of Saul Canelo Alvarez in San Diego via Boxing Scene.

"I can honestly say that I love the guy because he's someone who did a lot for my career and really catapulted my career and did a tremendous job in promoting my career. He's a master at what he does. ... I will meet with Bob Arum one day, and I will sit down with him, and I do hope things get worked out and patched up, because that's what the fans need. The boxing fans want to see all these great fights happen," the former boxing champion added.

De La Hoya has already made steady steps to repair his relationship with Arum, whom he had feisty competition in recent years. Last December, the Golden Boy sent Holiday greetings to Arum and his family and the Top-Rank head also confirmed that he had a courteous phone conversation with his former prize fighter.

Big Fights Coming

If the reconciliation between Golden Boy and Top-rank Promotions pushes through, the boxing community should expect to see some of the biggest fights in recent years.

Of course, the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao fight will be the greatest ever to happen post-Cold War, but there are also bunches of fights to be made such as Canelo Alvarez vs. Sergio Martinez, Danny Garcia vs. Timothy Bradley and Nonito Donaire vs. Abner Mares.

In short, great things in boxing is about to take place and it's up for De la Hoya and Arum to get the job done.
