The Floyd Mayweather Jr. versus Marcos Maidana May 3 bout continued to generate interest among boxing fans as tickets sold as of Saturday reached more than 14,700 out of 16,000 seats according to fight promoter Richard Schaefer.

So far, the ticket sales had generated $12 million, which could reach $15 million.

To further generate interest, Mayweather teased media men at a news conference by saying that Maidana, who is 12-to-1 underdog on some sports books, could break his 45-0 record. "You can't take any fighter for granted, anything can happen ... This guy is tailor-made to make a war," LA Times quoted Money May.

Nate Jones, assistant trainer and close friend of the undefeated boxer, said that while Maidana looks good, the May 3 will be a boxing exhibition with the Argentinean boxer not finding Mayweather and Money May knocking out Maidana.

Maidana did not attend the news conference because his wife is expected to deliver a baby soon.

Mayweather called the May 3 bout which will be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, "The Moment." His last match with Saul Alvarez in September was dubbed "The One."

However, while Mayweather conceded that his opponent made a big impact on boxing with his last fight with Adrien Broner in December 2013, he boasted, "I prepare for guys like him by preparing for everything. I don't believe in taking punishment. It's all about being smart and listening (in training camps)."
