While unbeaten American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr is the 11-1 favourite to win the Saturday bout against Argentinean boxer Marcos Maidana, Money May himself admits it won't be an easy fight because Maidana is not a pushover.

Mayweather said, quoted by BBC, "If he brings his best, maybe he will be the first guy that actually makes me dig in my bag of tricks and pull out my 'A' game ... My whole career all I had to use was a 'D' and 'C' game to beat every guy."

If Maidana would beat the odds and win, bettors too would cash it in, while if as expected Money May would triumph, he would definitely be the bigger winner if only for the guaranteed $32 million purse, plus the title.

Mayweather said that since it is his first bout against Maidana, the Argentinean boxer could discover him to be the hardest puncher the latter ever fought, adding, "He hasn't been hit by me yet, so we'll just have to see if he's the hardest puncher."

He acknowledged that Maidana is a hungry boxer and has a great knockout ratio, but Mayweather said winning involves keeping his composure and sticking to the game plan using all opportunities to hit the opponent on the face or body when there is an opening.

However, some analysts believe Maidana could be the one to break Mayweather's unbeaten record just when Money May is considering retirement. Boxing observers point to Mayweather possibly being distracted by his recent breakup with girlfriend Chantel Jackson amid reports that he was angry over her abortion of their twins.

Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, was quoted by USA Today as saying, "There's no question about it, he's distracted ... Think about it, we saw a very emotional Floyd (during Wednesday's press conference). Clearly, with a day or two to go until fight night, against without question one of the most dangerous opponent's he's fought, his focus should be 100% on the fight."

But Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Promotions, insisted, "I don't think Floyd Mayweather gets affected by too many things as it relates to preparations for a fight ... Come Saturday night, you will see an even more exciting Floyd."

Mayweather said, "I know people think I'm going to lose, but I come to win and I'm not afraid of anybody or anything."
