As expected, Floyd Mayweather Jr's win on Saturday over Argentinean boxer Marcos Maidana triggered speculations who would Money May's next fight be.

It is not a surprise that boxing fans are crying for Mayweather to fight eight-division title holder Manny Pacquiao next. Would Money May, who has previously thumbed down the idea because Pacquiao is under Bob Arum's Top Rank Promotions, change his mind if the one calling for Dream Match to finally take place is a boxing icon and fellow ring champion?

In a tweet, former boxing heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali wrote, "Congratulations @FloydMayweather. Maybe after you rest up we can see you rumble with @MannyPacquiao!"

The tweet of 1970s boxing icon who "floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee" was retweeted almost 12,000 times and favourited more than 5,000 times in a span of few hours, indicating how popular is the clamour for the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight.

Other boxing fans also favoured a rematch between Mayweather and Maidana since it was a very close fight with one judge even scoring it as a draw at 114-114. Some sought a Maidana-Pacquiao bout.

With Maidana himself questioning his loss and charging Money May, who pocketed a minimum $32 million guaranteed purse, of not fighting like a man, a Twitter member using the handle @RealSkipBayless pointed out Floyd can use the excuse of a rematch with the Argentinean pugilist as his reason to further distance himself from a Pacquiao bout.

Some boxing experts believe Mayweather is avoiding risking his now 46-0 record just a few fights away from retirement that is why he is avoiding the Filipino congressman and fighting boxers whom he can easily beat, although he admitted having a difficult time in his bout against Maidana and sustained a cut on his right eye on the fourth round.

Meanwhile, some Twitter members joined Ali in commenting on Mayweather's tweet that he is "The Best Ever." Ali wrote "LOL" which says a lot, while DON'T BOTHER ME found Money May's claim of being the Greatest Boxer of all-time a "disrespect to the great Muhammad Ali."
