Boxing News: Two Kangaroos In Australia Seen Boxing [Watch Video]
A video was captured of two male kangaroos having a fight. The kangaroos were seen boxing in a residential street in New South Wales, Australia. It looked like they had decided to fight out their differences.
According to the Telegraph, the video was uploaded by YouTube user Rodney Langham. The video showed the kangaroos throwing punches, as well as big kicks, while they used their long tails for support. The brawl, which resembled a boxing or martial arts street fight, lasted for about five minutes.
The kangaroos seem to use a lot of skill when they kick each other. They seemed to be wrestling and grabbing each other to prove to each other that they are more dominant.
This display of violence is practised by the "boomers," the male kangaroos, reported Yahoo News. It is said to be part of the kangaroo mating season where the males are prone to violence when other kangaroos show interest in the female kangaroo that they are after.
It was said that their weapon is their feet. They manage to crush the bone of their opponent with just one kick. Their favourite tactic is said to be the one which involves them using their paws to grab their opponent and then kicking them with their hind feet.
There are other situations when both the male and the female kangaroos fight it out for drinking spots. But most of the long and ritualised fighting takes place between the male kangaroos.
In a span of a week, the video, titled "wild kangaroo street fight Aussie style" has garnered more than 3,500,000 views and over 1,400 comments. The video was made to look comical because of the music that was added to the background, noted the Daily Mail . Rodney Langham, in one of the comments, said that the winner of the fight was the smaller kangaroo. Here is a look at a few of the other comments by YouTube users.
mrmacross: All those cartoons with boxing kangaroos were much more realistic than I could ever imagine.
ZeroGravityx.x: That's absolutely amazing how can their tails support that much weight they got to be at least 300 lbs. I'd hate to get whacked by that thing.
