In a virtual admission that eight-division title holder Manny Pacquiao's stock is dwindling, boxing promoter Bob Arum agreed that if the fifth match between Manny and Juan Manuel Marquez would take place, the Mexican boxer would get the larger purse.

The Top Rank CEO said that since Marquez won over Pacquiao in their November 2012 battle, it is just right that as victor, he would get the bigger share in their next fifth.

In the unforgettable bout, Pacquiao got a guaranteed $25 million payout even if he slept in the sixth round, while Marquez received $6 million.

Arum met with Marquez in Mexico to discuss the fifth match.

Marquez's demand for higher pay was confirmed by Freddie Roach, the trainer of Pacquiao, who was quoted by Sweet Science as saying, "My gut instinct on what is next? I want it to be Marquez, Manny wants Marquez, but Marquez wants a lot, lot, lot of money."

Roach said Marquez wants a 50-50 split, but he insisted, "Manny brings butts in seats, pay-per-view-wise, Manny is the guy. Obviously Manny deserves more. I think a rematch will make a lot of more money than the last fight. I think both sides can ask for more and Marquez deserves something, but not 50-50."
