By the looks of it, One Direction is set to have their work cut out for them. One Direction may be the richest boy band in the UK but the competition is about to heat up with the latest news. Boy bands of the 90's to the year 2000, namely Jonas Brothers, Hanson, and 98 Degrees are set to make a huge comeback. Can the boys of One Direction handle the heat?

According to Sunday Times, the boys of One Direction has been named as Britain's wealthiest boy band. Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik have accumulated 25 million pounds in their two decades in the music industry. In the boys 60-sell out shows, One Direction has managed to rake in 11.8 million pounds plus their comic relief alone has made 330,000 thousand sales in the UK.

Now, would the boys of 1D still be making some serious money with added competition in tow? News has it that the Jonas Brothers, Hanson and 98 Degrees are set to make a comeback. In fact, Jonas Brothers has already released their first single, "Pom Poms" which has got a whole lot of "Jo Bro" fans screaming in delight.

Like the boys of 1D, the Jonas Brothers have their comeback tour scheduled out with tickets on sale starting this April. The Jonas Brothers aren't the only boy bands of the year 2000 coming back to the scene. The pop rock trio, Hanson, is also set to launch their new single, "Get the Girl Back."

VH1 is set to release the official music video of Hanson's single on April 6 of which stars Kat Dennings of "2 Broke Girls" and Nikki Reed of "Twilight" The Jonas Brothers and Hanson aren't the only boy bands One Direction have to watch out for because 98 Degrees promises to heat up the competition a whole lot more.

98 Degrees is set to hit a road tour along with Boyz II Men and New Kids on the Block. The tour is set to kick off on May 28 with new songs from 98 Degrees. The band's new album "Revelation" is set to drop in on May 7 and the first single from it, "Microphone" has been released on iTunes.

Judging from the impressive fan base each of the boy bands have, would One Direction still remain on top with all the competition?
