Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie puts French estate on sale

Divorcing Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are reportedly selling their French estate and vineyards Chateau Miraval, which is the venue of their wedding in 2014.

Various outlets reported that the estranged celebrity couple have put their 1,200-acre conjugal property on sale. Pitt, Jolie and their children have previously leased the chateau since 2008 before finally purchasing the property in 2012 with an estimated value of US$60 million (AU$78 million).

According to reports, the multi-residence estate has 35 rooms and covers a vast compound with pine forests, olive groves, terraced hillsides, working vineyards, a private lake and a moat.

Located close to Provence in southern France, Chateau Miraval’s vineyard produces well-regarded rosé wines.

“It currently says ‘Jolie-Pitt’ on the Château Miraval bottles, and the next season's batch will have a new reprinted label with no names written on it,” sources told UsWeekly.

The “Allied” star married the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Goodwill Ambassador at the French estate on Aug. 23, 2014. On Sep. 19, the 41-year-old “Maleficent” star has sought court approval of her divorce from the 52-year-old “Fight Club” actor after 11 years of being together.

Pitt and Jolie met while filming the 2005 film “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”

Citing irreconcilable differences, Jolie is asking the court to award her sole physical custody of their six children. Jolie and the kids are staying in a rental property in Los Angeles after moving out of Pitt’s Malibu residence in California.

Since the divorce filing, the Jolie veered away from the spotlight while arranging separation settlement with Pitt, who, for his part, had only seen their children twice, after the family’s recent trip from France. Pitt was previously married to actress Jennifer Aniston while Jolie was wed to actors Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.
