Brad Pitt rejected by eldest son amidst ongoing divorce with Angelina Jolie, only reunited with 5 youngest kids
Last month, Brad Pitt reportedly got into a physical altercation with his eldest son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt. Though the claim has not been confirmed, the 15-year-old now refuses to see Pitt even during scheduled visits away from Angelina Jolie.
On Sept. 19, Jolie filed for divorce and requested full physical custody of their six children -- Maddox (15), Pax (12), Zahara (11), Shiloh (10) and the twins, Knox and Vivienne (8). Later on that same month, Jolie and Pitt signed off on an agreement that their kids would need to undergo therapy sessions before the “Fury” star could visit them.
A source from Us Weekly confirmed that the meeting, which took place on Oct. 8, was emotional for all the wrong reasons. Maddox is old enough to choose which parent he wants to stay with, and he definitely sent his message that day. He refused to see Pitt with the rest of his brothers and sisters. “He chose not to go and stayed with Angie,” the source said.
The publication went on to state that Maddox is incredibly close to his mother and that if Jolie decides to write off Pitt from her life, Maddox will follow suit. “He doesn’t really see himself as Brad’s son,” a different source said. “Maddox never wants to see Brad again.”
Moreover, Pitt did not get to spend any alone time with the remaining five children either. Apparently, a therapist was present the entire time and “it wasn’t full of joy and happiness.” The 52-year-old actor was still emotional during the reunion, as he had not seen any of his children for 19 days. “He and Angie agreed on steps that needed to be completed,” the publication quotes its source saying. “He wanted to wait until the timing was best.”
Maddox was initially adopted by Jolie in 2002, two years before she started a relationship with Pitt. In 2006, Pitt made it official and adopted Maddox as well. Pitt and Jolie married on Aug. 23, 2014.
