Brad Pitt Visits Sydney To Promote New Film World War Z
Brad Pitt fans are in for a treat as the Oscar nominated actor and producer stops by Sydney to promote his latest film project World War Z.
It has been confirmed today that the other half of the famous Brangelina coupling is arriving in less than a month for the anticipated premier of his post-apocalyptic horror action film.
World War Z is a story about Gerry Lane, a United Nations employee, who "traverses the world in a race against time to stop the zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments, and threatening to decimate humanity itself."
On June 9, Sunday, Pitt is expected to walk Harbour City's usually subdued red carpet with the big-budgeted film's director Marc Foster and movie producer Dede Gardner.
"World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War" is a follow up to Max Brooks' novel "The Zombie Survival Guide." Before pre-production in 2011, Pitt was seen in a tight bidding contest with fellow actor Leonardo DiCaprio for the rights to the book.
In an expensive six-figure deal, Pitt's production company Plan B together with Paramount Pictures won the battle and was able to close the deal against Warner Bros. and Leonardo DiCaprio's company Appian Way.
The movie was shot in several places in the UK including Cornwall, England where the scene of the UN control room was filmed, and also in Glasgow, Scotland and Valletta, Malta.
The film also originally had in the cast Ed Harris and Bryan Cranston who both had to drop out of filming due to conflicts in schedule.
No word yet if Pitt is coming in with his wife Angelina and six kids for the trip. No confirmed location for the premiere has also been announced.
The movie hits Australian theatres on June 20.
