Bradley Cooper was so unhappy with his role in "Alias" as Will Tippin that he reportedly wanted to "kill himself." In an interview with GQ magazine, where he appears on the cover, Cooper confessed about his true feelings on being sidelined as Jennifer Garner's reporter friend, Will Tippin.

39-year-old Cooper briefly talks about his time in "Alias" costarring with Jennifer Garner as Sydney Bristow, undercover double agent of SD-6, a supposed black ops and top secret division of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

According to the GQ Magazine interview, the first thing Garner said to Cooper in the set of "Alias" was: "Do you want a cookie?"

His part as Will Tippin was promising, but as the series progressed, Cooper's role got sidelined.

"I would only work three days a week. And then for the second season, I got even more sidelined. I was like, 'Ugh.' And then next thing you know, I was like, 'I want to fucking kill myself.' " said Cooper in the GQ interview.

"So against the advice of nearly every single person he knew, and despite having exactly zero future jobs lined up, he asked to be written off the show. "J.J. was like, 'Okay.' He probably would've fired me, anyway," added Cooper.

After that, he got injured while playing basketball. He tore his Achilles and had to spend a year recuperating. It was at this time that he thought of actually quitting the acting business altogether.

Cooper also gets candid about dealing with alcohol and drugs and eventually overcoming it.

He has reportedly been sober ever since the realization that being hooked on drugs and alcohol was going to sabotage his life.

Cooper further talks about his roles in "Wedding Crashers," "Midnight Meat Train," "All About Steve," "The Hangover," "Silver Linings Playbook" and "American Hustle."

He spoke fondly about working with actress Sandra Bullock in "All About Steve," which was shown in 2009.

"I was doing these movies, and I got to meet Sandra Bullock and meet these people and work with them. And I'm sober, and I'm like, 'Oh, I'm actually myself. And I don't have to put on this air to be somebody else, and this person still wants to work with me? Oh, what the fuck is that about?' I was rediscovering myself in this workplace, and it was wonderful," said Cooper in the GQ report.

Even though Bradley Cooper has talked about wanting to kill himself during his acting stint with "Alias," it's a relief that he didn't push through with that plan. Whether or not he was actually serious about that statement, Cooper's family, friends and fans are grateful that he is still alive and is now enjoying his hard-earned success because of his A-List status. Thanks in part to an Oscar nomination for his role as former teacher and mental patient Pat Solitano in the movie "Silver Linings Playbook" with Academy Award Winner for Best Actress Jennifer Lawrence.
