A Brazil football fan suffered a fatal heart attack during the match between Chile and the 2014 world cup hosting country and passed away.

The 60-something man was at a bar inside Mineirao Stadium in Belo Horizonte when the match was taking place. The tension grew stronger when the football-crazy Brazilian fans watched their players fail to score a winning goal against Chile's resolute defence. The score was level, and even the extra time was not enough to come to a conclusion. The match headed for the dreaded penalty shootout. The pressure was enormous on Brazil as millions of fans around the world expected the South American country to win the match and proceed to the quarter finals. The man at the bar, who was a native resident of Rio de Janeiro, apparently could not tolerate the tension any more as he suffered the heart attack. He complained of physical discomfort.

He was rushed to a hospital in the south-central area of the capital at 3:40 in the afternoon. Within a couple of house, he breathed his last. The fan was reportedly to be diabetic and hypertensive, according to the State Department of Health. He was one of several others who required medical attention during the match, according to the secretary. According to reports, the number of fans requiring medical support during the Brazil-Chile match was around a hundred. About 60 others required medical attention at their seats in the stadium.

Brazil eventually won the match 3-2 in the penalty shoot-out, much to the delight of innumerable fans all over the planet. However, the extreme pressure associated with the match had physical repercussion among the fans as well. A woman of around 50 suffered a shock. A 20-year-old boy broke his nose after he had been involved in a fight. Another 20-year-old required paramedics' attention after he got into a heated argument with a Chile fan.

Brazil has now reached the quarter finals and is all set to face Colombia next. One wonders what might be in store as the match promises to be another big one causing extreme stress to its fans.
