The final few episodes of "Breaking Bad" are slowly unfolding, revealing one card at a time. The Episode 8, "Blood Money," of "Breaking Bad" Season 5 provided a glimpse of Walter White (Bryan Cranston) in the future through a flash-forward. However, the episode did not reveal the details and each new episode is leading the audience to that.

"Breaking Bad" Episode 12, "Rabid Dog," is about Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul). It deals with his fear and distrust, him becoming Hank's (Dean Norris) evidence, and Walt's hesitation to give him the "Old Yeller" kind of ending. The episode opens with Walt finding Jesse's car in front of his house, but a gasoline can is what stares at him inside his house. He has to deal with the smell and stain of the carpet soaked in gasoline. He lies to Skyler (Anna Gunn) that it is a pump malfunction that caused the whole mess. She does find out that Jesse is responsible and that he intended to burn down the house.

Skyler once wanted to protect her family from Walt and now, she wants Walt to deal with Jesse. She has come to an extreme end and realises that a small move can annihilate what Walt has built, and destroy her family. And, expecting her to care about Jesse is unrealistic after we saw her helping Walt make the confession video that framed Hank. Hank and her sister Marie (Betsy Brandt) were her biggest support system. She is no longer a person who thinks from the point of what is moral and immoral. Walt has destroyed lives but he really cared about Jesse, which Hank is quick to realise.

It is Hank who finds Jesse first in the house of Walt, all set to burn it down. He convinces him that they both will together burn it down. He takes him to his house and makes him stay there, fearing that if Walt comes to know about Jesse's whereabouts, he will meet the same fate as other witnesses. Does he care about Jesse? No, he does not. Jesse, for Hank, is a junkie murderer and it does not matter whether Walt kills him or not.

Hank wants Walt and Jesse is the only one who can help him unmask Walt and put him in the jail. Walt killing Jesse means DEA has a better chance of nailing Walt. Also, Jesse has recorded his testimony and has provided all the details. For Jesse, Walter White is the devil and the fear and distrust have completely muddled his head. He wants to destroy Walt. Nothing can be done when fear and distrust have taken over the person, completely. Walt also realises that when Jesse does not meet him, thinking that he is playing one of his sinister games and he wants to kill him.

There were a couple of scenes in this episode that seemed unnecessary and slowed down the episode, especially the scene where Marie is talking to her psychologist. Aaron Paul's performance was one of the highlights of the episode as his character was the axis around which the episode "Rabid Dog" revolved.
