‘Breaking Bad’: Bryan Cranston may not return
Bryan Cranston (Walter White) confirmed that there is a movie based on the “Breaking Bad” world that is being made, but he suggested that he may not be in it. The focus on the film may be on Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) and a few other characters whose storylines need some form of a closure.
According to a report by EntertainmentWeekly, Cranston spoke about the “Breaking Bad” film during “The Dan Patrick Show.” “I have not gotten the script, I have not read the script. And so, there’s the question of whether or not we’ll even see Walter White in this movie. Ohhhhh! Think about that one,” Cranston said.
The plot of the film is reported to be about the quest for freedom for a man who was kidnapped. The story may seem familiar to the fans of the franchise since this is the story of Jesse Pinkman towards the end of the show. The character was last seen driving a car to freedom.
Cranston said that he is ready to reprise his role if the show creator Vince Gilligan asked him to. However the actor appeared to hint that the upcoming film will be about other characters, and Walter White may not be central to the film, the way it was in the TV series.
“there’s a lot of people who felt that they wanted to see some kind of completion to some of these storylines that were left on. And this idea, from what I’m told, gets into those — at least a couple of the characters who were not completed as far as their journey,” Cranston said.
Cranston doesn’t know if the movie is a prequel or if the plot will be set after the events of the show. He is, however, excited that another story from the franchise is being told and he wants to see all the cast and crew members again on the set, even if he isn’t in the film.
