Apple has reportedly refunded the credits on iTunes to customers, who had bought the pass to download the episodes from season 5, of the hit TV show "Breaking Bad." The decision comes after there was some confusion following AMC's decision to split the season into two.

AMC decided to split the 16 episode season 5 into two seasons, one titled "Season 5" and the other titled "Season Finale." The decision led to the confusion, customers had to buy the two sets of the previously single season, separately.

The confusion led to a lot of anger among the customers. One of the customers had also filed a lawsuit against Apple for false advertising. Ohio based Noam Lazebnik reportedly paid $22.99 for the final season but was entitled only for season 5 and not the last 8 episodes of the finale season.

The lawsuit reportedly contended that when the show was announced and became available for download on iTunes, it was advertised as the "final" season and contained "16 episodes."

The lawsuit did not claim millions of dollars from Apple, however, but had asked for a refund of $20, which the plaintiff felt he was entitled to. Apple seems to have taken the nature of the lawsuit and the general anger among the customers into consideration.

Apple has now reportedly refunded all the customers who had bought the last season of "Breaking Bad." This reportedly includes both the customers who bought the first 8, episodes as well as those who bought all 16 episodes.

"Breaking Bad" is one of the most popular shows currently being aired on TV. The show also got an Emmy award for best drama series for its fifth season. The creators of the show reportedly credited the changing nature of TV to its success, video on demand, online streaming and social media buzz are reported to be the secret of their success.

A lot of questions have been left unanswered in the series so far, customers can expect to get the answers in the season finale. The title of the finale is - "Felina" which is a scientific classification of small cats. What have cats got to do with "Breaking Bad?" Readers will need to watch the show to get the answers.

Apple customers are delighted with the news of the refund; the last episode of "Breaking bad" will be aired on Sept 29. But customers need not use the credits to buy the last episode; instead they can choose to buy any other content on iTunes.
