"Better Call Saul" now has a premiere date. This spin-off of AMC's cult series "Breaking Bad" is scheduled to air its first episode on Sunday, Feb. 08, 2015. It is a two-night premiere event, as the second episode of "Better Call Saul" will air the next day on Monday, Feb. 09. The regular slot for this much anticipated show is Monday nights.

"Better Call Saul" is set several years before Saul Goodman met Walter White in "Breaking Bad." The two night premiere episodes are going to introduce Jimmy McGill, which is the real name of Goodman's character. The new show is set to show the transformation of a small time criminal Jimmy McGill into the crooked lawyer Saul Goodman.

"This February, during AMC's first ever two-night series premiere event, we're going to introduce Jimmy McGill to the world. Known to Breaking Bad fans as Saul Goodman, viewers will soon discover Saul wasn't always Albuquerque's top criminal (criminal) lawyer," Charlie Collier, president of AMC, said in a statement.

As "Better Call Saul" is a prequel and is set six years before the events of "Breaking Bad," most of the star-cast of the original series are not returning. However, this gives some of the dead characters to appear once again. Jonathan Banks is returning to reprise his role as Mike Ehrmantraut. He will be seen working for and against Jimmy McGill.

Michael McKean, Rhea Seehorn, Patrick Fabian and Michael Mando have also signed on to star in "Better Call Saul." McKean has signed on to play the role of Jimmy McGill's brother Chuck. Fabian is playing a character called Hamlin, while Seehorn will be portraying the role of Kim. Mando will be seen as Nacho.

Kerry Condon has also been roped in to star in the new series. The details about her character have not been revealed. And, Julie Ann Emery and Jeremy Shamos are playing the roles of Betsy and Craig Kettleman. The two have been described as "the world's squarest outlaws."

As previously reported, the first season of "Better Call Saul" consists of 10 episodes. AMC has already ordered Season 2, which will consist of 13 episodes. In Australia, Stan, a streaming service jointly owned by Nine Network and Fairfax, has got the exclusive right to stream "Better Call Saul" in the country. The broadcast schedule is "in sync with the US broadcast schedule," according to Sydney Morning Herald.
