One of the most remarkable things that veteran actor Bryan Cranston is known for is sporting his signature bald look in AMC's Breaking Bad, a notable distinguishing feature which transformed him into becoming one of the best anti-heroes in American television series history.

Earlier this week, rumours circulated all over the Internet that the 57-year-old actor is set to portray Superman's well known villain Lex Luthor in the next franchise.

A tweet from Latino-Review.com's El Mayimbe hinted that director Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. is eyeing Cranston to play Lex Luthor in the upcoming Batman vs.Superman movie.

"@elmayimbe: FANBOY BLINDITEM: Which superhot actor finishing final season of hit TV show who also was in 2 films for WB is up for juicy badguy part? :)"

If rumours are true, then the Emmy Award-winning actor is indeed a good candidate to transform into Superman's nemesis. As the notorious Heisenberg in Breaking Bad, it would be great to see Cranston bring his evil persona into the big screen.

Cranston is the second actor to be linked to the Lex Luthor role. British actor Mark Strong was also named another possible candidate for the role.

In a recent interview with Digital Spy, the 'Low Winter Sun' actor's only response to the rumour was "All I can say is... watch this space."

The sequel to the Man of Steel was confirmed at last month's Comic-Con where the plot will centre on Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns" where Bruce Wayne faces off against Superman.

Digital Spy also reported that Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling and Matthew Goode are among those being considered to take over the role. Christian Bale no longer return as Batman.

Meanwhile, Breaking Bad Season 5's final eight episodes will premiere on August 11.
