Brisbane Chef ‘Cooked’ Transgender Girlfriend For Three Days Like ‘Pig’s Broth’
Marcus Volke, who allegedly killed his Indonesian girlfriend Mayang Prasetyo, might have "cooked" her for three days continuously.
The remains of Prasetyo's body were found by police on Saturday. However, the 27-year-old transgender woman might have been killed by her partner on Thursday. 9NEWS obtained the audio recording of a conversation Volke had had with an electrician when his stove malfunctioned. Volke called the 24-hour electrician on Saturday as he "had a bit of a problem" while cooking. "The stock pot boiled over and dripped down and got into the oven and basically made this big bang and then all my power turned off," he told the electrician.
When the electrician came to Volke's apartment to fix the problem, he was told not to worry about the foul smell as Volke said that he had been cooking "pig's broth." The electrician was, on the other hand, not convinced with Volke's reasoning about the smell. He called the police who found the dismembered body of Volke's girlfriend. Volke managed to run away but later killed himself while hiding in a wheelie bin.
The Indonesian girlfriend of the Brisbane chef apparently worked as a high-class escort. The transgender woman charged as high as $500 for an hour of her service. Some recent updates indicate that Volke too worked as a prostitute. He apparently worked together with Prasetyo in a Melbourne brothel for many years. The Herald Sun reported that Volke, a Ballarat High School alumnus, used work as a sex worker in Copenhagen, Melbourne and Brisbane.
The 28-year-old chef was apparently suffering from paranoia. ABC News reported that, according to one of his former friends, Volke suffered from poor mental health. Kirby Biro, who had met Volke online through the computer game "World of Warcraft" in 2004, gave reference to the chef's mental condition. "He once told me that the person on the TV was talking to him, so I think that's a mental health issue," he said. "He told me he was paranoid, he told me his girlfriend was cheating on him. I remember him saying she'd cheated on him and that he was going to take her out into the bush and do things to her."
