Bristol Palin responds to Kathry Griffin's 'white Precious' joke
Bristol Palin is certainly not one to take criticisms sitting down. Palin took on Life on the D-List star Kathy Griffin when the latter joked that Bristol is the "white Precious."
"The audience's reaction to this 'comedian' spoke volumes, and the decent people I know would probably have booed her, too," Palin told Fox News' Pop Tarts.
"I hope people didn't have to pay money to hear her negativity and criticisms."
Griffin performed at the VH1 Divas' Salute the Troops special wearing only two-piece bikini. The comedienne then told audience that Bristol Palin was the only Dancing With theStars contestant to have gained weight during the competition.
"She's the only contestant in the history of the show to actually gain weight," Griffin said. For that, the audience shouted their disapproval with a notably loud "boo." But Griffin went on, despite the negative cheering.
"No, come on, come on. She gained like 30 pounds a week, I swear to God, it was fantastic...She's like the white Precious."
Precious is 350 pounds African-American character in the eponymous film, based on the novel Push by Sapphire.
The VH1 Divas' Slaute to the Troops aired last night in the United States, and it will be broadcast by the Armed Forces Network internationally. Already, there are talks of editing out Kathy Griffin's statement about Bristol.
