Bristol Palin's longevity at 'Dancing With The Stars' assailed with shotgun
The opposition to Bristol Palin's longevity in Dancing With The Stars has gone to the extreme when a man from Wisonsin shot his TV in protest of Sarah Palin's daughter advancing to the finals of the show.
Steven Cowan was quoted as colorfully saying that Bristol Palin's longevity at the show was purely political, according to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Bristol Palin shot to fame along with former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, when the elder Palin was picked by then Republican presidential contender Sen. John McCain to be his running mate in the 2008 US presidential elections. Recently, Sarah Palin's Alaska, a reality television show featuring the Palin Family and their home state Alaska, was launched.
Cowan, 57, has a history of mental illness, and was arrested on Tuesday following a 15-hour standoff with authorities after he shot his television when Bristol Palin appeared onscreen while he ad his wife was watching Dancing With The Stars.
Cowan fled from their house saying she feared that Steven might point the gun at her. She called the police,who arrived with a dog team and hostage negotiators.
Cowan has no previous criminal record, and his anger at Bristol Palin's advancing to the show's finals has caused and outrage. He was charged with "recklessly endangering safety" and the use of a weapon.
Even inside the show, the opposition to Bristol Palin's longevity has been mounting. The younger Palin revealed that to In Touch Weekly that some dancers at the show do not approve of her stay, as she is not the best dancer in this season's roster of celebrities.
"Maksim Chmerkovskiy does not like me. He thinks I don't deserve to be here because I'm not the best dancer."
The young Palin freely admitted that she may not be the best dancer among Dancing With The Stars constestant but she definitely works the hardest in improving her dancing skills.
