British Prime Minister David Cameron inked a deal during his three-day state visit to China the shipment of £45 million worth of pig semen. China hosts 50 per cent of the global population of pigs and bringing in semen from British pigs is expected to improve genetics of the animal that is a main source of protein for Chinese.

Besides opening the door to sending pig semen to China, Britain is also exploring the possibility of pig feet to China, which many Britons find yucky to eat while it is considered a delicacy in the Asian giant.

If the exports would push through, Britain is bound to earn £7.5 billion, said Environment Secretary Owen Paterson who helped Mr Cameron close the deal on the pig semen export.

A spokesman from Mr Cameron's office said, quoted by The Telegraph, "We're doing all we can to ensure that businesses up and down the country reap the rewards from our relationship with China. And that includes our pig farmers."

It was also Mr Paterson who opened to door to British beef exports to Russia.

Now, he is seeking a market to export parts of slaughtered chicken that could boost income of British farmers by £70 million annually. Perhaps Mr Paterson could consider the Philippines where chicken head, intestines, blood and ass are sold as popular street food.
