Who does Miley Cyrus calls up when she needs some serious talking and advice? It's none other than pop queen Britney Spears who is the "one person in [her] life who gets it." The 20-year-old, who is facing criticism for being a "twerk queen," is currently making the rounds promoting her hit single "We Can't Stop."

"Everyone goes through a time in their life where they don't want their picture taken every day. [Britney] just never had that time where she could say, 'I'm going through something right now and need to shut down,' " she told Huffington Post comparing her life to the 32-year-old Spears, "I also don't have that, so it's good to have that one person in my life who gets it."

The VMA Nominated star also blasted the media by saying they forget she is just 20 year old and allowed to make mistakes. "I think people forget what it feels like to be 20," she said. "People just evolve and that's all that's happened to me. But people think a mad scientist somehow cooked up this potion and turned me into a different human, which it wasn't."

On the controversies surrounding her haircut, the starlet said, "All I did was get a haircut and buy some clothes and everyone thinks that I am made into a robot that changes with what's popular every 10 years."

It is difficult not to draw similarities between Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears as both of them began their careers on Disney television shows. The former was the star of Hannah Montana and the later as a member of The Mickey Mouse Club.

In a tweet dated Jun 21, Britney liked Miley's new video and posted it on Twitter with a tweet saying, "Loving ur new video for #WeCantStop @MileyCyrus! Maybe you can teach me how to twerk sometime, LOL."

Cyrus is nominated for three Moonmen at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards for her controversial twerk single "We Can't Stop." The VMAs will go live on August 25 from Brooklyn's Barclays Center.
