Britney Speaks turns Japanese in new cover
Britney Spears turns Japanese in an upcoming issue of a magazine from the United Kingdom.
Next month, the pop star will appear on the cover of British magazine Pop. Britney Spears shot a manga-style cover for the magazine with art direction from Takashi Murakami, often referred to as "Andy Warhol of Japan."
The Circus singer said she enjoyed working with the Takashi.
"I loved working with Takashi," she said. "I especially liked how he took high-end fashion and incorporated it with Japanese manga."
Britney Spears took interest in Japanese culture following her to tour to Japan.
"We looked at a lot of characters and artwork before we shot, so I could get a feel for what he was looking for," she explained. "I was in Japan on my past promo tour, and I loved it."
Pop's Editor-in-Chief told Style.com that the singer is "pretty much Pop personified." Spears announced in her Twitter account that she found the photographs from the shoot beautiful. Britney Spear's career is apparently picking up. Aside from her Pop cover, Spears shot a cameo in her "Glee" tribute episode, and is working a follow-up to 208' Circus.
