As replacement to former judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger in the US 'X Factor' talent contest, Simon Cowell was aiming for Britney Spears to sign up. However, the thing that is holding up during the negotiations would be the total number of seasons she would work with the show.

A source revealed there is no truth about this rumour. As of the moment, the show is looking into giving her around $12 to $15 million just for the initial season and eventually will have a huge price increase if she continues on for the second, all based of course as well with the hike of the show's ratings too.

Simon Cowell is looking into offering hearing Britney's commitment for two years but the former teenage pop star seeks for an 'out clause' if she goes along the way.

Judges Simon and L.A. Reid are staying, with Cowell eyeing to have Adele on board. Another source said that Simon is always in the lookout for fresh ideas for the show to gain new directions to pursue.

On Having Adele As Judge

Simon personally thinks that the success of the Grammy award winner is just incomparable. He is one of those many people who easily recognises her genuine love for music and believes that if the singer will be a part of the show, it will add a great sense of credibility and different level of seriousness to it.

There are spreading rumours that even the show's producers are into the brit singer as well. The 23-year-old is continuously praised for her humble attitude even after having achieved great fame and success early on.
