Britney Spears was never physically abused by Jason Trawick. Britney Spears' team issued the statement denying a report by Star Magazine, saying Trawick laid hands on the pop star.

The allegation came from Britney's one-time husband, Jason Alexander, who was married to Spears for just a little over two days, with their marriage annulled back in 2004. In the Star Magazine report, Alexander said the singer told him Trawick "beat on me."

"Every aspect of the story published by Star Magazine is completely and utterly false and Star Magazine was informed of the falsity of this story before it was published. The statements attributed to Jason Alexander are a complete fabrication as Britney has not had any form of communication with Mr. Alexander in years, " read the statement issued by Britney Spears' representatives.

An audio clip of the conversation allegedly between Alexander and Spears was posted on RadarOnline, but the same statement denied that the woman's voice recorded in the clip belongs to Spears.

"The audio recording posted on Radaronline this morning purporting to be between Britney Spears and Jason Alexander is so obviously fake as to be laughable. Suffice it to say, that Jason Trawick has never laid a hand on Britney."

Britney's team called the reports as "just another example of the irresponsible nature of the tabloid media." The singer's representatives took RadarOnline and Star Magazine to task for "relying on shoddy sources and false information for the sole purpose of selling magazines."

The legal team of the singer will be taking legal action against the parties, with the statement asserting that the reports were delivered "without regard to the truth and without regard to who they hurt in the process. "
