Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale can bring back old glory as Queen of Pop
Britney Spears latest video a ‘masterpiece’, says her choreographer
The man behind the perfection of Britney Spears music video, Brian Friedman, choreographer for the pop star, has asserted Wednesday that a ‘masterpiece’ from her talent’s album will be out and ready to shake every music album that has ever been produced.
Friedman was referring to “Femme Fatale”, Spears’ latest album set to be released on March 15. The album title, added Brian was chosen by Britney herself, which is already inviting expressions of support and excitement from her fans, according to MTV News.
Speaking of one of the album’s songs, “Hold It Against Me”, Friedman told MTV News that Britney has never worked in her early videos the same wauy she did in this single. He claimed that the singer is ‘definitely setting the bar’ with her latest 'masterpiece'.
"She's showing that you have to push it as an artist: that you can't just settle, that you can't be calm with your choreography, that you have to make a statement," Friedman was quoted as describing Britney’s performance to MTV News. "There's so many people out there competing in this world to be the queen of pop, and she's definitely claiming her throne."
Britney’s camp has earlier confirmed the singers opening number at the Grammy Awards this year and she is lined up to perform “Hold It Against Me”.
To further prove his point, Friedman compared “Hold It Against Me” to some of Britney’s other videos.
"Artistically, this video I think surpasses a lot of her other videos," he teasingly said, according to MTV News, about her other videos like the one directed by Jonas Åkerlund.
"So many of her videos are iconic, though. You look at 'Toxic' and you look at 'Slave,' even 'Oops ... I Did It Again': People are gonna remember those videos forever. [In] '... Baby One More Time,' she made school-girl outfits relevant and so popular. This video is artistically a masterpiece, and I don't think that Britney has pushed the envelope in this way ever in any of her videos."
Need I say more? Friedman said it all. Let’s all just wait for the Grammy’s and see if Britney can deliver.
