Britney Spears, Iggy Azalea's ‘Pretty Girls’ Covered By Little Mix
Little Mix recently stopped by a United Kingdom music station where they covered Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea’s collaboration song “Pretty Girls.” Prior to this, members of the British girl group revealed that the song was originally intended to be part of their album.
“Pretty Girls” was co-written by Azalea and Little Mix girls Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall with Alfie Grant and Maegan Cottone. Nelson and Thirlwall earlier said the song was not good enough for their upcoming third album so they had to scrap it.
But during their recent visit at the Capital FM radio station, Edwards, Nelson, Pinnock and Thirlwall demonstrated what “Pretty Girls” would sound like if they did not pass it to Spears and Azalea. The Little Mix performed a shortened version of the song for a game of karaoke.
With their own rendition of Spears and Azalea’s “Pretty Girls,” Little Mix slightly sounded like the Spice Girls even with their covers of OMI’s “Cheerleader” and Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” while on the Capital FM radio station’s show.
Released on May 5, “Pretty Girls” is the lead single for Spears’ upcoming ninth studio album. It is the first collaboration song done by Spears and Azalea together, which they performed live at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards for the first time on May 17.
Spears’ eighth studio album “Britney Jean” was released in Nov. 29, 2013. It included the collaboration songs “It Should Be Easy” featuring will.i.am, “Tik Tik Boom” featuring T.I. and “Chillin’ With You” with her sister Jamie Lynn.
Meanwhile, Spears was recently featured in the People magazine’s cover story, in which she revealed that is a hands-on mother to her two sons Sean Preston, 9, and Jayden James, 8, despite her busy schedule with her music career.
Currently dating Charlie Ebersol, Spears shares parenting duties with her former husband Kevin Federline. While busy with her Las Vegas residency, the mother of two still manages to do things for her sons such as gymnastics lessons, play dates, soccer games, and homework a night.
Spears said her children come first in her life and homework is a priority. She explained, “We have a reward system that helps motivate them: if they get so many As, they get one toy a month.”
