Pop princess, Britney Spears, is signed as new judge of reality TV and talent competition "X Factor" judge in the United States.

A source close to the pop star revealed that the singer is being paid $15 million to join the judging panel, replacing Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger after one season.

"the contract is signed. It's all completed and Britney is beyond excited ... She is excited about showing the world that she can do this, and do this well. This is the perfect next stage in her career. Both Britney and Simon are very excited to work together." a source told E! News.

Pop superstar, Beyonce Knowles, and magnificent singer Adele were suspected as the target personalities of Simon Cowell to be casted in the judging panel.

Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato are some of the names speculated to be up as new judge of the talent contest.

Simon Cowell vs. Nicole Scherzinger

"X-Factor" became controversial due to the dispute and feud among the judges. Simon clashed with fellow judges such as Paula Abdul, L.A. Reid and Nicole Scherzinger.

Simon Cowell traded insults with co-judge and Interscope Records owner, L.A. Reid. Simon Cowell said before that he expected that he will clash with L.A. Reid merely because the latter is person who is willing to speak his mind and have his own opinion. Simon said that is the reason why he wanted him on the show.

It is unclear when the Simon-Nicole feud started. However, it may have started when reviewers prefer Cheryl Cole over the Pussycat Doll darling. There was a time in the two-and-a-half hour show when Nicole looked straight at the camera and said sarcastically, "Thanks a lot for the support right now, Simon. It's the first live show. Awesome."

Pussycat Dolls star member Nicole was let go from the show after its first season in part because lead judge and producer Simon Cowell felt that the singing competition needed greater star power on its panel of judges.
