Brock Lesnar went out in a big way in capturing the WWE world heavyweight championship from John Cena in the 2014 Summer Slam now he will be facing a massive opponent in his first title defence. Lesnar will be staking his title on the line against Big Show on Sept. 21.

Despite Big Show's immense size and stature, many pundits are still skeptical that he is the challenger that will pose a threat to Lesnar. After all, he just disposed of WWE's poster boy and 15-time champion in dominating fashion. This is coming from ending the winning streak of the Undertaker at WrestleMania and it seems the outfit is pressed to present a worthy opponent.

According to Give Me Sport, Lesnar could defend his title against Big Show in the yearly Hell in a Cell extravaganza or the pay-per-view Survivor Series. However, everyone is already looking forward to WrestleMania 31 where there are hushed tones that Lesnar will eventually pass on the belt to the heir apparent, Roman Reigns.

The selection of Big Show comes as a surprise and a bit of disappointment as the wrestler has been on and off the limelight in the past few months. The last big name he fought was incidentally Lesnar who ended the match with a steel chair earlier at Royal Rumble this year. The humungous athlete has been paired with opponents of equal stature this year - the most significant of which was a tag team battle with the world's largest athlete Mark Henry against the tandem of Erick Rowan and Luke Harper.

Now that Lesnar has been signed to an exclusive contract and not by an appearance basis, it would be logical to pit him in a Hell in a Cell match. And a rematch with Cena, however unappealing it would be, can still be put in line given the following of both fan bases. Big Show will probably just be a step in the ladder of the Beast as he is expected to hold on much longer to the belt, for now.
