Brody Dalle thinks Jennifer Lopez and Iggy Azalea’s controversial “Booty” is “horrendous.” The Distillers and Spinnerette frontwoman has some choice words for the American hitmaker and her fellow Australian artist.

The single’s music video features leotard-clad JLo and Azalea gyrating against each other while showing off their backsides. Later on, JLo drenches herself in what appears to be lube or other slippery substance.

The sexually-charged video has polarised viewers when it debuted a few days ago. According to its critics, the cringe-worthy video objectifies women. “Booty” comes weeks after the release of Nicki Minaj’s equally controversial “Anaconda.”

Dalle, 35, agrees with the detractors. In a series of tweets, she called the music video “horrendous,” and even took a swipe at one of the song’s writers, Chris Brown.

I think JLo and iggy azalea have lost their heads up each other's big butts

I'm trying to understand what the point of their horrendous video is but I can't find one — Brody Dalle (@BrodyDalle) September 22, 2014

The song is a piece of crap that was written by waaay to many people including a well know woman beater

The song’s writers also include Asia Bryant, Armando Perez, Thomas Wesley Pentz, Danny Omerhodic, Renee Wilson, Tedra Renee Wilson and Azalea, but Dalle was most likely referring to Brown, who infamously beat his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. Dalle’s criticism of the song also subjected herself to her own critics, who claimed she was slut-shaming both JLo and Azalea. She isn’t deterred, though.

“Booty” debuted at the US Billboard Hot 100 chart at number 18.

Earlier this year, Dalle released her debut solo album, which features collaborations from several artists, including Shirley Manson from Garbage, Nick Valensi from The Strokes and Michael Shuman from Queens of the Stone Age.
