After a South African artist made an art installation from a former jail representing the vagina, a Brooklyn-based artist will host the Rub Out art mission on Sept 18. The objective of artist Christine Cha is to promote an open discussion of female sexuality, particularly female masturbation.

Unlike masturbation month celebrations in some cities, Cha's gathering does not involve mass jack offs but will invited attendees to rub a square on the wall of the Kraine Gallery in New York City to mimic the way women sexually achieve orgasm without a partner.

There is no attempt to hide the intent of her art mission since the invitation reads "Real women masturbate."

"Next to the amount of negative sexual attention pregnancy, disease, and 'slit-shaming,' there is very limited talk, especially amongst young women in their adolescence (who need it the most!), about the positivities of masturbation and sexual pleasure," The Huffington Post quoted Cha's email.

The artist said that she wants every woman to feel confident in their own skin, be able to speak her mind and not be ashamed of feeling good. "Everyone deserves the right to an orgasm," Cha stressed.

The art mission is on Sept 18, from 9 pm to midnight. Kraine Gallery is at 85 East 4th Street, New York City.
