"Brooklyn Nine -Nine" season 2's first episode premiered yesterday. The episode was called "Undercover" and it showed Jake Peralta going on an undercover operation. The show begins with Jake giving a speech at the Angie and Marco's wedding who have connection to the mafia. Being undercover, Jake is also pretending to be one of the mafias. He says in a speech to the couple that the "they should make him proud."

Post the speech, the other members of the mafia gang give a shocking lip to lip kiss to Jake as a way of recognising him as one of the mobsters. Soon after Jake initiates a raid at the wedding saying, "Meatballs were dry" though the wedding was nice. NYPD swarms in and takes the mobsters gang down as Detective Terry Jeffords (Terry Crews) drags Peralta out to safety.

Peralta is later seen back in the station where he is welcomed back by Charles Boyle played by Joe Lo Truglio. The other members of the station also greet Jake. Later he is shown having a private conversation with Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero). Jake wants to speak to her about how he told her in the last season that he liked her. Sandy Samberg's character tells Andy that he didn't mean anything when he said "he likes her."

Amy Santiago tells him that she is still romantically involved with Teddy. Meanwhile, no one in the station seems to know what happened between Gina and Charles. For those who remember, the two slept together in season 1. Gina is shown asking Charles that he should keep the secret between them.

Jake is shown once again going in search of mafia Freddy and devises a plan to catch him with Charles. In his quest, Jake meets Freddy's girlfriend Bianca played by "Saturday Night Live" and "Obvious Child" star Jenny Slate. She helps Freddy run away and pulls a gun at Jake. Later she reveals that Freddy is at the Teterboro Airport. However, Jake misses Freddy at the airport.

At the end of the episode, Jake telly Amy that his feelings for her are true where as Boyle and Gina talk. Boyle tells her that he still has not told anyone about their secret.
