‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ season 4 finale to feature Ryan Phillippe
Ryan Phillippe is set to join the already stellar “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 4 guest list. The “Cruel Intentions” star is scheduled to appear in the season finale, and his character’s presence isn’t going to please one member of the squad.
Spoiler alert: This recap contains plot details about season 4 of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” The fourth season premiered Sept. 20. The series is available for Australian viewers to watch on SBS every Wednesday at 8:00 p.m.
Gina (Chelsea Peretti) is back at the Nine-Nine after getting hit by a bus. Captain Holt’s (Andre Braugher) assistant is still nursing some injuries as evidenced by the medical hardware she donned during “The Audit,” but she insists that she’s “as strong physically as I have ever been – stronger even.” And Gina’s condition apparently can’t stop her from dancing.
Good thing that she isn’t going to need her “halo” by the time the season finale airs as she is bound to meet a “potential love interest” named Milton before the show takes a break. According to TVLine, “Cruel Intentions” star Ryan Phillippe is set to play the part. Gina’s former lover and now stepbrother Charles (Joe Lo Truglio) is reportedly against the pairing, so it’ll be fun to see how he’ll handle the shakeup.
The “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 4 finale is going to be a two-part instalment, and Phillippe is slated to appear in the first part of the closer. He’s not the only one who’s making an appearance in the upcoming episodes, though. Gina Gershon is also reportedly scheduled to turn up in a number of shows.
Known for her roles in films such as “Bound,” “Face/Off” and “Showgirls,” Gershon is joining the comedy series as Sergeant Melanie Hawkins, a diehard police officer who runs New York’s most elite task force. Jake (Andy Samberg) and Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz) are reportedly going to be “in awe” of Hawkins, leading both of them to compete against each another for an exclusive slot in her group.
Also making an appearance this season is Nathan Fillion. He is set to play Mark Devereaux, the star of the show within a show called “Serve & Protect,” which is similar to “Law & Order.” Mark thinks that his decade-long experience as a detective on TV makes him qualified to join Jake and Rosa’s investigation of an actual crime that transpired on the set of his show.
Phillippe, Gershon and Fillion join the already star-studded “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 4 guest list that includes Greg Germann, Eric Roberts, Marshawn Lynch, Jim O’Heir, Maya Rudolph and Ken Marino. The series has yet to be renewed for season 5 by US network Fox, which makes its future rather uncertain (see related story below).
