Bruce Springsteen Plays “Born To Run” Full Album for James Gandolfini
Bruce Springsteen performed his classic 1975 album 'Born To Run' in its entirety turning his concert at Ricoh Arena in Coventry, England into a tribute show for the actor James Gandolfini on Thursday evening. Gandolfini, 51, the star of the hit HBO television series "The Sopranos" died of a heart attack on June 19 while on vacation in Italy.
The E Street Band, whose member Steve Van Zandt starred alongside the late actor in the HBO series, also played with Springsteen at Coventry.
The musician played a total of 30 songs, including all songs from the "Born To Run" album, and performed for over three hours for the fans.
A lot of tributes and nice words have been pouring out lately from actors, colleagues, fans and other artists when the news about Gandolfini's passing broke out.
Van Zandt wrote on Twitter, "I have lost a brother and a best friend. The world has lost one of the greatest actors of all time," and added "Maureen and I send our deepest sympathy and love to Deborah, Michael, Lily, and all of Jimmy's family."
Some of the musicians who paid tribute to the actor include Justin Timberlake, Slash, Gene Simmon and Nathan Followill of Kings of Leons.
