Making his first appearance as a Wallaby last June and participating in the culmination of the recently concluded 2013 FxPro Super Rugby Finals where he was awarded as best forward, Brumbies captain Ben Mowen, instead of drowning himself in elation, took it upon himself to prepare for the upcoming match against the "All Blacks" this coming Saturday.

Being at his peak condition for the Wallabies is primordial for Mowen as he did not waste himself out at the Brumbies ball but rather drove home at midnight.

''I didn't want to leave any stone unturned in my preparation ... I'm just so excited about this new challenge, and obviously it doesn't come any bigger than the world champions and getting to play them for the chance to hold the Bledisloe Cup,'' Mowen says in an interview with Sydney Morning Herald (SMH).

Mowen has realized his potential, since signing for the Brumbies in 2012. As a team captain, he sparked a revolution, revitalizing the team to achieve renewed success.

His eye-catching performance was noticed by former Wallabies coach Robbie Deans as well as incumbent Ewen McKenzie. In the same manner, Mowen is motivated to regain the vanished glory in the Bledisloe Cup as the All Blacks have held on to the trophy since 2003.

''I've been lucky enough to be involved in two shifts in culture, in the last couple of years with the Brumbies and now the Wallabies starting under a new coach,'' he tells SMH.

In spite Mowen's fine form, McKenzie keeps mum about the pecking order of the team which is what the player likes because it keeps him on his toes, for him to be able to earn his fourth Test cap.

''I think that's a bit of an advantage,'' he said, with only a weekend off between the Super Rugby Finals and their first installment against the All Blacks.
