If the royals spend too much money on their clothes and fashion, they are blamed for wasting the taxpayers' hard earned money for their luxury but if they happen to wear one dress twice, they still face criticism. The Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine has been labelled to be a "royal on budget" by various websites after she has worn some of her dresses more than once and was spotted wearing $99 dress at her recent visit in New York. Critics are also speculating how the pregnant Duchess could fit into same gown now that she has put on some weight.
The 32-year-old Duchess is particularly fond of her Jenny Packham midnight blue gown, which she has worn thrice already since 2013. Kate wore the gown recently at her last public appearance at the St. Andrews 600th anniversary dinner in New York. It was her last night in the United States. Prior to this, the Duchess reportedly wore the same gown first at the dinner event of 100 Women in Hedge Funds in October 2013. She apparently loved it so much that she wore it just three months down the line at an event in National Portrait Gallery in her country, reveals E! News.
The critics are also speculating how the pregnant Duchess could fit into the same gown. "Magic! Pregnant Kate Middleton managed to fit into her beloved navy Jenny Packham gown," writes Usmagazine.com. The slideshow above shows a picture of the growing baby bump of the Duchess.
The website also notes that Kate has opted to wear a cheap $99 little black dress from Seraphine in New York on Tuesday morning. The Duchess wore a bright pink coat over it. "We love when the royals are budget-friendly! At least we know that when it comes to recycling, Kate Middleton is about that life," writes the website labelling Kate and Prince William as "royals on budget."
It is not the only dress that Kate has chosen to recycle. In the past the Duchess has been recycling a lot of her gowns and dresses. For example, in 2012 the wife of Prince William wore a beautiful red Alexander McQueen dress for Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee River Pageant Flotilla event. The Duchess recycled the same dress in 2014 at the Dramatic Arts reception event. Meanwhile, check out Kate Middleton's pictures in the slideshow above.
