She finally did it. Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock has finally filed for divorce against her motorcycle maker husband, Jesse James, following weeks of her marriage publicly falling apart across tabloid pages all over the world.

While most people would have seen that coming, no one had expected Bullock to announce her new baby that she had secretly adopted three months ago, before the Oscar buzz and certainly before the media circus surrounding her failing marriage.

Bullock is seen cheerfully holding up her three-month-old baby, named Louis Bardo Bullock, on the cover of America's People magazine. In her interview with the magazine, she said she had initially applied for adoption, with James, four years ago and went through the process with no special treatment and not having particular preferences about the baby. The 45-year-old brought home Louis Bardo, who was born in New Orleans, in January and wanted to keep him a secret until after all news about the Oscars died down.

She also told People that she has filed for divorce against James. Papers obtained by Access Hollywood reveals Bullock has cited "discord or conflict of personalities" as reasons for the failure of the five-year marriage.

However, Bullock will continue to co-parent James' three children, Chandler, 15, Jesse Jr., 12, and Sunny, 6, and finally, Louis' adoption as a single parent. "I don't want to know what life is like without those kids," said Bullock, who also said that she is "scared and sad" about going through the divorce.
