Morgan Spurlock's 3D concert documentary "One Direction: This Is Us" was left behind by Lee Daniels' "The Butler" at the Labour Day box office. "The Butler" topped the North American chart and became the first movie of 2013 to remain at the top for three weekends in a row.

The boy band documentary could not get past the magic of the Weinstein drama over the three-day weekend. "The Butler" saw a 21 percent increase over last weekend and managed to collect $20 million during the week taking the total collection to $79.3 million. The film was made on a budget of $30 million. The film is all set to go north over $100 million domestically.

On the other hand, "One Direction: This Is Us" bagged the second place with $18 million. On Sunday, Sony/Tristar predicted that the film would fetch $21.5 million after defeating "The Butler" over the long weekend. But, it didn't quite happen, nevertheless, "One Direction: This Is Us" is still a winner as it was made with just $10 million.

One Direction is produced by Spurlock and Simon Cowell and the film opened in more than 2,500 cinema halls domestically. The boy band comprising Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson shot to fame after Simon Cowell assembled them and formed the hit band. The film was shot using Sony's F55 4K camera,and a special team of technicians from Japan worked with the filmmakers, as reported by Billboard.

Ethan Hawke and Selena Gomez starred "Getaway" bombed with a four-day gross of a measly $5.5 million. It was dumped at no. 10 as fans and critics slammed the movie as one of the worst films.

"We're the Millers" crossed $100 million mark as it managed to collect $112.9 million in North America and was placed at no. 3.
