Brick company, Austral Bricks today unveiled a giant 100 square metre brick mural in Craigieburn to celebrate the parade of Tour de France winner, Cadel Evans, on Friday.

The company has used 9,200 decorative bricks in 9 glazed colours to depict Cadel’s face and the national flag, with four bricklayers undertaking the six day bricklaying exercise.

Austral Bricks’ Victorian marketing manager, Richard West said: “We built the mural as a tribute to a Victorian who has just posted arguably Australia’s greatest sporting achievement.”

The 100 square metre wall is located at Austral Bricks’ Victorian office at Craigieburn East at Craigieburn and is clearly visible from the Hume Highway.

It is the third wall to be built on the site, preceded by Tiger Woods and Essendon and Collingwood AFL players.
