Caleb Johnson of 'American Idol' Sorry For 'Retard' Comment, Fans Voting Him Out?
Caleb Johnson, finalist of the hit music competition "American Idol", apologizes to fans through his Facebook account on "retard" comment.
The comment reportedly surfaced when Caleb, among other Top Four Contestants Jena Irene, Sam Woolf, Alex Preston and Jessica Meuse, was asked on how the show has changed his view on social media (Video below).
"It gives access to a bunch of retards to talk to me," Caleb had answered.
Caleb's apparent use of the word "retard" didn't sit well with his fans and Caleb was quick to explain his statement on his Facebook page. He was referring "retards" to "wackos" and not to his fans.
Gossip Cop reported that the viewers of "American Idol" were asked to pick out songs for their idols to sing. Johnson didn't appreciate this decision of the show since he claimed that followers have reportedly been giving him unsolicited advices.
"I don't really enjoy having to see somebody telling me what song I need to sing. I think at this point of the competition, I can pick and choose my own songs and represent me," he said. Further adding that he doesn't need 10,000 people telling you should sing this, you should sing that. At this point the aspiring star thinks this time he will only listen to himself, and pick the song himself.
This isn't the first time that Caleb had to apologize publicly. Earlier this season, on March 19, he made light of people suffering from or with life-threatening allergic reaction to peanut and aired his apology on March 20 (read details).
"I just want to sincerely apologize for that peanut allergy joke that I said last night. That joke was not meant to be hurtful or harmful at all. I'm deeply sorry about that."
Now Caleb Johnson fans may be doubtful whether they should keep rooting for him to win "American Idol". His incorrect use of the word "retard" could have them thinking twice.
"retard" means "fucking stupid person". It also happens to be a word to describe a guy like Corky from Life Goes On #CalebJohnson
