‘Call of Duty Black Ops 3’ Double Weapon XP weekend, Awakening DLC lands with new game settings update for PS4
The coming weekend is a great way to jump back into “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.” Developer Treyarch has a surprise event for players for the weekend.
It will be a Double Weapon XP weekend, starting from Feb. 5 and spanning the entire weekend until Feb. 8. Gamepur spotted the announcement via the tweet of Treyarch’s David Vonderhaar. According to the report, the weekend event had been well-received by fans who are readying to participate and play. This event was first announced during the latest Livestream conducted by the developer, and it will be open to all platforms for “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.”

This is not the first event that the developer has announced for the game this year. Before January ended, players enjoyed the Double XP weekend for the Zombies and multiplayer aspect of the game.
Also recently, the developer has released the latest expansion for “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” titled Awakening. It is currently available for the PS4, with the Xbox One and PC platforms to follow after the timed exclusivity deal for the expansion passes.
Fans who are playing the game may have also noticed a new game settings update land for “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.” The latest version of the patch bears the number 48.4.12.5.0, which Charlie Intel sighted to be already live on the PS4.
The update brings some exploit fixes, marker bugs and adds in a new playlist. The new playlist comes in time for the Awakening DLC map. As per the report, this can be accessed via the Bonus category. Sadly, there’s a time expiration for when the playlist will be in “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.” It will not be permanently in the game, so best to play through while it’s still there. For now, the maps that are part of the new expansion can be accessed in the playlists that are in Public Matchmaking.
