‘Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’ release date on Nov. 4, reveal trailer, remaster and PS4 monthly DLCs confirmed
Infinity Ward will go back to its most successful title in the “Call of Duty” franchise with a space twist. Titled “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare,” the new game will launch on Nov. 4 later this year.
As this extends beyond the Earth’s sphere, battles will go into the solar system, which is the developer’s way of reaching new heights with the franchise. How the developer desecribes “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” is that it takes on the old-school action from the high-time of Modern Warfare, with a new setting that goes beyond what “Call of Duty” has previously offered.
“On one hand, this game is the kind of gritty, boots on the ground, visceral war story that ‘Call of Duty’ is known for,” said Infinity Ward Studio Head Dave Stohl. “On the other hand, its future setting takes players on a journey of epic scale and proportions, providing incredible game play innovations and new experiences for our fans.”
In a press release, Activision has given a few more details about the game. Players will take on the role of Captain on the warship, and they will be tasked to make the hard decisions during battles.
Infinity Ward has also teased some online action with a multiplayer mode that improves on the movement system of the franchise. The Zombies mode will also see some improvements, as it will have a co-op Zombies ode that will introduce a new storyline and unique gameplay.
Activision has also confirmed some editions for “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.” There’s a Legacy Edition and Digital Legacy Edition, both of which have the upcoming “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” and “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered” at AU$129.95.
The Digital Deluxe Edition includes all that’s in the previous editions, with the addition of the Season Pass. This is for AU$149.95. Finally, the Legacy Pro Edition will have everything previously mentioned with a few additional features. For AU$169.95, the Legacy Pro Edition will include a collectible Steelbook, an official game soundtrack and additional digital items.
The “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered” will have 10 multiplayer maps from the original title. Sony has also confirmed via the PlayStation Blog that PS4 owners will get DLCs an entire month earlier than the other platforms. There’s also a teaser trailer already available, seen below.
