The Cambridges: William, Kate, George and Charlotte pose for new Christmas card

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, have released their new family Christmas card photo with Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The family of four, soon-to-be five, are all smiles in their matching blue outfit in the picture.

The photo was taken earlier this year by Getty Images Royal photographer Chris Jackson at Kensington Palace. It features the Cambridges in baby blue matching clothes and with beaming smiles. Kate doesn’t appear to be pregnant yet, or at least in the very early stages of her pregnancy, when the picture was shot. George, on the other hand, looks like his left shoe is about to slip off his foot.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to share a new photograph of their family,” Kensington Palace announces. “The image features on Their Royal Highnesses’ Christmas card this year.” The palace also announced that Princess Charlotte will be starting nursery school in January.

Next year, there will be another prince or princess who will join the family for their Christmas card photo. The royal addition is expected to be born in April.

George and Charlotte and their parents will celebrate Christmas with their uncle Prince Harry and his future wife. American actress Meghan Markle has been confirmed to join the Cambridges and the rest of the royal family, including Queen Elizabeth herself, at church on Christmas morning and at lunch. She will also be present during the family’s gift-giving tradition at Sandringham House. Harry and Markle are said to be staying at William and Kate’s Anmer Hall residence while in Norfolk.

Meanwhile, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, have also released their official Christmas card. The photo was shot in July during Camilla’s 70^th birthday party by Hugo Burnand.
