Cameron Diaz And Jason Segel, New Couple Alert?

“Bad Teachers” co-star Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel have reportedly taken their faux film romance real. The duo, who are teaming up again for “Sex Tape,” are seen apparently cosying up in New York on Tuesday night.

According to Life & Style magazine, Cameron and Jason seemed to be more than friends when they when out for dinner.

“They were at [upscale eatery] Nick and Toni’s and seemed to be on a date,” a source said.

Another eyewitness on Instagram revealed that the actors were also spotted shopping at th Citarella food market in the East Hampton, where they “bought groceries and then drove off together.”

It could be nothing more than friendship, though. After all, they are starring in a new film together. Also, after meeting in the production of the comedy “Bad Teacher” in 2011, the 40-year-old “There’s Something About Mary” star and the 33-year-old “How I Met Your Mother” actor have become friends so perhaps there were just hanging out together.

On the other hand, both are single and unattached.

Cameron previously dated Alex Rodriguez, but it has been two years since they broke up. Jason, meanwhile, broke up with actress Michelle Williams in February after dating for a year.

Cameron and Jason undoubtedly have chemistry on screen, and maybe they have found it in real life as well.

In “Bad Teacher,” Cameron’s character was pining over a fellow teacher, played by her real-life ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, but ended up with Jason’s character in the end.

For “Sex Tape,” which will be directed by their “Bad Teacher” helmer Jake Kasdan, Cameron and Jason will play a married couple who make a sex tape only to inadvertently lose it.

Jack Black has recently been confirmed to join the film, and will play the CEO of a major porn company who gets hold of the tape.

The film, which is still in pre-production stage, will be released in 2014.
