With Prince William and Kate Middleton breaking Christmas tradition, Camilla Parker-Bowles also made a statement when she skipped Queen Elizabeth's Christmas day church service. Prince Charles' wife was forced to stay at their family home in Wiltshire due to her "niggling" back injury leaving her husband to attend solo during the Christmas event.
The whole royal entourage made headlines on Dec. 25, Thursday, when they arrived in style as they celebrate Christmas as a family. Headed by Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philips, the other royals who were at the service include Prince William and six-month pregnant Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, Princess Eugene, Princess Beatrice, Princess Anne and husband Tim Laurence, the Earl and Countess of Wessex and daughter Lady Louise Windsor, Peter Philips with wife Autumn and Prince Charles without the Duchess of Cornwall.
It seems that Prince George wasn't the only member of the royal family who went missing for Christmas day church service, with Camilla not showing up in the service her absence fuelled a lot of speculations why she ditch the annual family affair. Based on reports, she is recovering from her back injury and has been receiving physiotherapy.
"Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall will not attend the traditional family church service at Sandringham, St. Mary Magdalene Church, on Christmas Day," according to Clarence House spokesperson's statement. "The Duchess put her back out earlier in December and has been in pain and is receiving physiotherapy. The doctors have advised against any travel."
Meanwhile, Prince William and Kate Middleton made headlines when they decided not to join the royal family for Christmas lunch. Juggling their time for their two families, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge managed to meet most of their extended family all in one day by attending the mass with royal family and lunch with the Middletons.
The Duchess of Cambridge family members also made an appearance during the Christmas service with Kate's younger siblings James and Pippa Middleton, along with Carole and Michael Middleton. The Cambridges and the Middletons celebrate their first Christmas lunch together at Anmer Hall, their first holiday on their new home in Norfolk.
