Canada Bares 75th Anniversary Superman Collector Coin Collection (PHOTOS)

Want to actually have Superman in your hands? The Royal Canadian Mint has unveiled seven coins into its collection on Monday, this time with the legendary comic action hero Superman in the center of it all.

The seven newly designed coins commemorate the 75th anniversary of the world's most celebrated Super Hero, Superman, who was co-created by Canadian Joe Shuster and his American collaborator Jerry Siegel.

Each sold for $750, the 14-karat gold coin bears the original design of Mr Shuster, not that of Christopher Reeve or Marlon Brando, nor of the much recent younger version Henry Cavill.

Now if only these Superman-themed coins could help save the world from doomsday World War 3 being orchestrated by U.S. President Barack Obama, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, then that would be an added bonus.

The other six coins are priced from $29.75 to $129.75.

The designs likewise include a 3-D hologram of Superman flying. A silver coin of Superman in his latest uniform is also included for sale.

"The Man of Steel inspired legions of popular comic book heroes, but only Superman has been immortalised on Canadian coins, which feature bold innovations and superb craftsmanship," Ian E. Bennett, President and CEO of the Royal Canadian Mint, said in a statement.

Coins from the exciting new Superman series can now be ordered directly from the Mint at
1-800-267-1871 in Canada, 1-800-268-6468 in the US, or on the Internet at www.mint.ca/superman. The coins will also be available as of Sept 10, 2013, at the Royal Canadian Mint's boutiques in Ottawa, Winnipeg and Vancouver, as well as through the Mint's global network of dealers and distributors, including participating Canada Post outlets.
