Rising tennis superstar Canadian Eugenie Bouchard admitted on national TV she would like to date fellow Canadian Justin Bieber.

Commentator Sam Smith asked Bouchard the million dollar question after her impressive win against Ana Ivanovic on Wednesday, making her the first Canadian to reach a Grand Slam semis in 30 years.

"You're getting a lot of fans here, and a lot of them male and they want to know if you could date anyone in the world of sports, of movies, I'm sorry they asked me to say this, who would you date," said Smith.

Bouchard clearly didn't see the question coming. She looked embarrassed and paused for a while. It looked as if she weren't really going to give her answer as she put her hand on her face and bowed down before answering.

"Justin Bieber," said Bouchard, who currently ranks 31st in the world. The commentator then called out to Bieber. "Justin, if you're watching," Smith said before handing the microphone back to Bouchard. "Hey," Bouchard said.

TMZ reported that Bieber has already seen the video. The pop singer is reportedly flattered, telling all his friends that he wants to make contact with the tennis athlete as soon as possible.

Bouchard was ecstatic that she was the first Canadian to reach the semifinals of a Grand Slam tournament. The first Canadian tennis athlete to have gone to the semis was Carling Basset during the 1984 U.S. Open, reported by CBC.ca. She was hopeful to make it to the finals but her anticipation was cut short after China's Li Na defeated her in their semifinals bout on Thursday.

Luckily, Bouchard was probably thankful that she didn't get asked some awkward questions after the match. "I'm proud of how I've improved as a player throughout the tournament, but I'm never satisfied with losing," said Bouchard. "I always want to go further and do better," she added. Bouchard said that even though she was not able to go beyond her expectations, she was happy with her performance altogether.

Li Na also praised Bouchard's performance during the semifinals match and said that the Canadian may even become the best player in the world.

Bouchard has won the hearts of many Aussies during her stint in the 2014 Australian Open. According to her agent, Sam Duvall, Bouchard can even exceed Russian hottie Maria Sharapova in terms of market demand.
