‘Cannibal’ Attack: Man Caught Eating a Woman’s Face – Report
A man was allegedly caught eating a woman’s face before he was Tasered by the police. Witnesses claimed that 34-year-old Matthew Williams chewed his victim’s face after going “Hannibal Lecter” on her early Thursday morning.
Williams was caught in a room with a 22-year-old woman he just met in his room at the Sirhowy Arms Hotel in Argoed, Blackwood in South Wales. When the security staff burst in his room, they apparently saw him chewing off the victim’s face.
“Security said they told him no girls in his room and he didn’t answer, when they opened his door he was eating her face,” Jill Edwards, who lives near the hotel, was quoted by The Mirror as saying.
“He went Hannibal Lector on the woman, he gouged her eyeball out, ate them and ate half her face,” Lyn Beasley, who also lives near the hotel, added, claiming Williams was high on cocaine.
When the police arrived, the officers tackled William with a high voltage Taser, effectively knocking him to the floor. He became unresponsive moments later and died. His victim also died from her injuries.
Williams reportedly had just served half of his five-year prison sentence for attacking his partner who lives nearby. He was staying at the hotel and had invited the victim inside for a drink.
“We were called at 1:23 am after a report that a man was attacking a woman in the Sirhowy Arms Hotel,” a statement from the Gwent Police said. “On arrival both the male and female were still at the location. A Taser was discharged and a man was arrested.
“The woman was located with injuries and has since been pronounced deceased. Whilst under arrest, the man became unresponsive. Officers and paramedics administered first aid but he has since been pronounced deceased.”
The statement added that the matter has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission to investigate Williams’ death since he was in police custody after he was Tasered.
