‘Captain America 3': Recurring Character 'Confirms' Death Of A Superhero—Report
Previous reports claim "Captain America: Civil War" will see the death of Captain Steve Rogers. However, it's still uncertain if the super soldier's fate in the third sequel will really end with his physical death. Supposedly, the word "death" could merely be a symbol of his retirement as being Captain America, where he finally hangs his shield. However, a recurring character in the movie is believed to be the bearer of bad news for Captain America.
Frank Grillo will reprise his role as Brock Rumlow a.k.a. Crossbones in "Captain America: Civil War." Its believed his presence in the third sequel will mean the end of Captain America. According to Inquisitr writer David Cornell, Crossbones will be responsible for the death of the "First Avenger." It's still uncertain how closely Marvel will depict the original Civil War story, but according to Inquisitr, Frank Grillo's return as Crossbones hints the inevitable death of Captain America. "The significant presence means that Crossbones is the character whose bullet kills Steve Rogers," Cornell said.
"Captain America: Civil War" will reportedly show the superheroes divided under different leaders. One is Tony Stark and the other Captain Steve Rogers. It's believed Captain America will gather those superheroes under his command and together take refuge in Doctor's Strange's sanctum sanctorum. Inquisitr claims it's ultimately where Steve Rogers would face his death under Crossbones. "When he leaves the hiding place and allows himself to be arrested, that is when the supposed involvement of Crossbones comes in," Inquisitr writer David Cornell said.
While this bit of information still remains unconfirmed, it's interesting to note that Chris Evans once talked about retiring as Captain America, so it's likely that "Captain America: Civil War" will somehow feature Steve Rogers' death. Additionally, there were previous talks of another character taking over as the super soldier. Actor Anthony Mackie has been confirmed to reprise his role as Sam Wilson a.k.a. The Falcon in "Captain America: Civil War." Back in August, Screenrant claimed Falcon may suit up as the new Captain America. Even Joe Quesada, Marvel's Chief Creative Officer, appeared at The Colbert Report show back in July where he announced the new identity of Captain America. According to Nerdist, Quesada confirmed that Cap's shield will be taken up by The Falcon.
