‘Captain America’ 3: Writers Talk About Modok
"Captain America" 3 is slated to be released on May 6, 2016. The movie is the continuing story of Steve Rogers after he was found buried in ice. He has faced the threat of a shadowy organisation known as Hydra in the previous movies.
The screenwriters of the upcoming movie are Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. In a recent interview to SFX, the two writers discussed the challenges they face while writing a script and what they would like to see in the future.
The writers said that they had managed to get all the characters they wanted to fit into the recently released "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" movie. Christopher Markus pointed out that there are some characters that they want to bring but can't do so without giving some background information about such characters.
The character Modok seems to be writers' favourite. The character has appeared in several comic books and animation series. In appearance the character has an oversized head with very small arms and legs.
"Oh, we have to go talk to this guy - there's something I should tell you about him first..." said Christopher with laughter, referring to the character Modok. According to the comic books the character came into being after several scientific experiments to make a man become super intelligent, to understand the mysteries of the Cosmic Cube.
This background information may be needed for the audience who have not read the comic books but still want to enjoy the movie. "The whole movie needs to take on that structure in order to accommodate him" said Christopher.
Marvel movies have been performing well at the box office. "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" for instance was reportedly able to collect over $700 million worldwide. Expectations are high on the next movie as well. Will the upcoming movie be able to cross the billion dollar mark?
Details of the plot and the cast for "Captain America" 3 are still not available. The superhero will make his appearance next in the movie "Avengers: Age of Ultron," slated to be released on May 1, 2015 in the U.S.
